I have a few decent price selections running for us tomorrow on what looks to be a rather medicore betting day. The selections are below, along with a short reasoning as to why I think they are a decent bet:
14:45 Fontwell – (5) Morianour
- There’s a lot to like about this horse for this race. Won at Uttoxeter 3 outings ago, following up with a decent enough 2nd. LTO was not so good, however I’m expecting a better run this time and the stats suggest we’re in with a good shout here at decent odds. The yard had a nice winner on the weekend and the jockey is useful enough. The current 10/1 – 11/1 looks pretty good.
17:15 Wolverhampton – (2) Ascot Week
- This race has the shape of a ‘bookie’ race to me, with the front 2 in the market short enough, providing bookmakers with the opportunity to hedge their bets and merrily clean up if both are beat, which is not out of the question. The one I like for this is (2) Ascot Week. The yard is in good form and on the combined ratings this is the one most likely to be a danger to the shorties in my mind, and the current price around 7/1, 15/2 looks acceptable.
17:45 Wolverhampton – (4) Jack Bear
- I like Jack Bear at the prices for this race. Drawn 10 is not ideal, but the combined rating and value look to the bet at the odds makes this a good proposition. The trainer has a good record at this course, their horses are running well, and I like the jockey booking. All this adds up to a real value bet at around 8/1 – 9/1 currently available. I am also having a small stakes saver bet on (1) Argent Knight at best price of 33/1 in this race.
18:15 Wolverhampton – (3) Snowdance Kid
- On the speed figures this looks fairly competitive, with a shortlist of no less than 7 contenders. However, at the odds I like (3) Snowdance Kid to stand a chance of hitting the frame in this race. The yard do reasonably well at this level and the horses are running well to hit the frame of late. There’s a bit of 20/1 floating around for this, so grab that if you, otherwise 16/1 is readily available with BOG.
